The Company

WayForth is a relocation company that specializes in downsizing and move management services for seniors. We assist our clients through the sometimes-difficult process of transitioning from their homes into smaller spaces, like independent living communities, condos, apartments, or assisted living facilities.

We are a full solution company that performs most aspects of the move process, including: designing floor plans, sorting, packing, moving, unpacking, and resettling our clients into their new homes.

The Position: Compliance Coordinator

The Compliance Coordinator assists General Counsel in managing regulatory filings with government agencies, working with other departments to ensure compliance with company policy and procedures, managing corporate filings, and assisting in litigation matters. Position also responsible for preparing legal documents, policies, managing discovery projects, assisting in maintaining office legal calendar and other law-related work, and assisting with internal investigations.

Essential Functions:

  • Research federal and state business and financial services law and translate their requirements into operations and workflows.
  • Support multistate acquisitions by providing analysis of state law(s).
  • Track and analyze federal and state legislative and regulatory changes that affect our locations, and proactively incorporate the changes into our operations.
  • Ensure procedures comply with all regulatory requirements, develop employee training programs, and maintain up to date compliance training records.
  • Develop, maintain, and update compliance databases.
  • Prepare regulatory filings and respond to regulatory inquiries and examinations.
  • Detect, remedy, and prevent compliance deficiencies and regulatory risks.
  • Lay the legal and compliance groundwork for expansion into new markets.
  • Review marketing materials for adequate disclosure, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Draft reports on compliance-related projects, including presentations for investor meetings, financial compliance policies, and investigations.
  • Assist with draft preparation and review of contracts, management of contract life cycle.
  • State annual reports and other corporate filings required to maintain corporate good standing in the companies’ jurisdictions.
  • Federal, state, and local business licenses and permits.
  • Due diligence work for mergers and acquisitions, and asset transactions.




  • Legal knowledge or experience in a legal environment. Experience with an in-house legal department or providing paralegal support at a law firm is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including familiarity with common legal terminology.
  • Regulatory and compliance experience in a financial institution doing business in multiple states is a plus.
  • Strong research capabilities using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research platforms and resources.
  • Expert knowledge and proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook).


  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education.
